Why sit on a subcommittee?
If you thought about running for the board in April, but weren't sure if it was for you, test-drive it by sitting on a subcommittee. You can see how the board functions and what their responsibilities are. You'll meet lots of industry people and have a great time while you do it. Throughout the year you will have the opportunity to plan and execute events like the ACE Awards, Ad Auction, PD Sessions, and Laid Backs. Or you can help raise the Club's profile by helping to increase membership and improve communications to the membership and the advertising community. What's the time commitment?
Time commitment depends on a few things:
- Number of people on the subcommittee
- Dedication level of other subcommittee members
If you know someone you work really well with and know they are a dedicated professional who will get the job done, ask them to join too! Not only will you get to work with someone you want to work with, you can help guarantee a successful year! Check out the subcommittees below and get involved!

Every year, businesses and the advertising community come together to mix, mingle and bid on a plethora of cheap advertising space. Why?
Well, everyone likes a good deal, and the money raised plops right back into the advertising community in the form of scholarships, support of ACE events including professional development activities, and other good causes like NABS. The ACE Auction team need a dedicated team of 10 volunteers to help develop, coordinate, and run the event. One e-mail to the chair and you'll be SOLD!

The Communications Committee is looking for dedicated volunteers that would be responsible for getting the message out. We need volunteers to help raise the Club’s profile by reporting on events (attend events, take photos, etc), writing and submitting news releases, profiling Club members, and helping to support all other subcommittee initiatives. The list is long, exciting, and always evolving. Find out how you can make a difference and get involved!

Promote ACE to post-secondary institutions. Student volunteers are needed to represent each of the post secondary campus’s in the city. The goal of the membership committee is to increase student membership as well as to have a student representative in each campus who will act as a liaison between the membership chair and their peers and will be involved in the mentorship program.

The programming committee is looking for 5-7 volunteers that would be responsible for planning and executing all Ad Club related events. From Professional Development to Networking events such as Laid Backs, the Golf Tournament and Christmas party, the programming team this year will strive to ensure members are given as many opportunities as possible to learn, network and recruit.

The Sponsorship subcommittee needs volunteers to assist in prizing co-ordination for events like Golf Tournaments as well as the Sponsorship effort for the ACE Awards. This would include contacting existing sponsors and prospecting new ones. This would provide for an excellent opportunity for a Sales and/or Marketing person to make valuable contacts and networking opportunities. Students or industry people are welcomed.
